‘The arrival of Trainspotting was an earth-shaking cultural moment and it had a huge influence on me…’ Douglas Stuart
One of Scotland’s most iconic literary voices, Irvine Welsh take us back to the notorious world of Trainspotting in his new novel Men in Love. A blazing and riotous journey, the sequel reunites Renton, Spud, Sick Boy and Begbie on a new quest: not for heroin, but for love.
Set during the birth of rave culture in the late ’80s and into the wild heart of the ’90s, the novel follows the crew through Edinburgh, London, Amsterdam and Paris as they chase sex, music, romance – and a shot at redemption.
Irvine Welsh was born and raised in Edinburgh. His debut, Trainspotting, became an era-defining novel and film. He has since published thirteen novels and multiple short story collections including The Acid House and The Blade Artist. His Crime series, starring Dougray Scott, was adapted for television. Irvine now lives between London, Edinburgh and Miami.
