Join Comma Press and the University of Manchester for Manchester in Translation 2026, an annual event designed to celebrate literary translation.

This year’s iteration will focus on Chinese, and will involve a short talk on literary translation followed by a practical Chinese to English translation workshop led by experienced literary translator Jack Hargreaves. No Chinese language experience necessary! There will also be a separate English to Chinese workshop available for Chinese speakers led by Dr Yu Kit Cheung, lecturer in Chinese Translation Studies at the University of Manchester.
