Círculo de Leitura da Comunidade da Língua Portuguesa em Manchester (Portuguese-speaking Community Book Club) is a community-based literary project that creates welcoming spaces for dialogue, reflection and cultural exchange through books and storytelling.

Our February event marks a special edition inspired by International Mother Language Day, under the theme Language, Identity and Culture. This session will be a mix of informal debate, shared reflections, games and playful activities, creating a welcoming and inclusive space for conversation across generations.

These sessions are for people interested in the culture of Portuguese-speaking countries who enjoy reading or who would simply like to exchange impressions, experiences and ideas around books, stories and lived narratives. No prior knowledge of the group is required, and for this event participants do not need to have read a specific book in advance.

The event is open to readers of all levels, as well as those who are curious about literature, languages and multicultural experiences. Our aim is to promote reading in community, strengthen cultural identity, encourage critical thinking and bring different generations together.
