When children see themselves, their communities and their experiences reflected in books, reading can become more enjoyable and unlock powerful benefits for wellbeing, empathy and literacy. Every child deserves that.

Read Manchester’s ‘See Myself in Books’ Festival is going on tour for Festival of Libraries! Farhana Islam’s book is included in Read Manchester’s curated collection of books chosen to champion diverse and inclusive children’s books. Farhana will inspire pupils by showing how representation in books matters and how important it is for all children to see themselves as the main character in their own story.
