The usual Coffee and Poems club experience with some extras mixed in.

These workshops are designed to bridge the gaps left by Coffee and Poems Club. These workshops explore next steps when it comes to writing. Whether that is editing your work or where to find opportunity. Here is what the sessions will look like:

Workshop 1 – Getting started with writing

Build drafted material using various prompted writing exercises. A lot of these will be fun, using some of the most effective tools from Coffee and Poems Club to get the writing going. Expect to be inspired and build some baseline material to guide you towards a form that works for you.

Workshop 2 – Editing and revisiting your writing

In the second workshop we will look at how you can edit your writing. Werther you need to consider form, voice or flow, this workshop will be designed to help you edit your work and will include practical editing exercises. After this workshop I will also ask you to send me over some writing and I’ll offer a bit of feedback.

Workshop 3 – Writing careers and resilience

Knowing where to look for opportunities with writing can be overwhelming. In this workshop I’ll bring tools about how you can build your writing career and resilience. This session offers different perspectives and tools on how you can build up and think about diversifying your craft. You’ll leave equipped with a writing toolkit to start putting your work out there.

There will be three workshops from May, once a month at Seesaw. You can book any of the workshops that are relevant to you or all three at once. As usual each ticket includes a coffee.

Accessibility at Seesaw

Venue is fully wheelchair accessible with step free access via lifts and has an accessible toilet. The front entrance is a sliding automatic door down the cobbled side street, which does have a non-cobbled pavement. We offer a sensory map of the space that is available on the reception, it maps the spaces around the building that are loud/quiet/bright/dark/busy. Staff are first-aid trained.
