Join Comma Press, the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University for Manchester in Translation 2026, an annual event designed to celebrate literary translation.

The focus language for this year’s event is Chinese. Aimed at anyone who is interested in or curious about literary translation, this event will begin with a short talk in English on literary translation, followed by two literary translation workshops to celebrate International Mother Language Day. One workshop is open to all with experienced literary translator Jack Hargreaves, and the other is for Chinese speakers, led by Dr. Yu Kit Cheung, lecturer in Chinese Translation Studies at the University of Manchester.
