This exciting theatre show is an adaptation of Oliver Sykes new book Fishing for Rainbows, directed by Dominic Berry and commissioned by Big Imaginations.

The story follows twelve-year-old Romani-girl called Kezia, who after the loss of her mum is desperate to show her family that she can do anything a boy can. Kezia’s family have a strict routine: the boys and Dad go fishing while she cooks and tidies the house, but Kezia longs to go out fishing and to be a part of something bigger. After challenging her dad to a bet, she gets her chance…

The key themes are family, single parent household, grief, independence, not being heard, sexism, advocating for yourself, and the notion that adults can be wrong.
