Manchester Literature Festival
Drawing on her belief in the importance of free speech, critical thinking and genuine dialogue, Deborah considers how we might approach difficult conversations with greater curiosity, nuance and openness.
Exploring some of the most pressing issues of our time – from free speech and censorship to identity, activism and social change – she argues that meaningful progress depends on our willingness to listen, challenge assumptions and sometimes change our minds.
This event offers a fresh perspective on tackling some of society’s most complex questions from one of today’s most accessible and thought-provoking feminist voices. Hosted by Erica Wagner.
‘Quite possibly the defining feminist of our generation.’ Elizabeth Day
‘If you have ever felt shut down, this book is a godsend’. Emma Thompson
Co-presented with Centre for New Writing and Creative Manchester.
