Moss survives in a cold, damp climate and, despite having no roots, it has been around for at least 350 million years. How do we establish roots as migrant women? How do we survive without roots? Can we learn from moss?

In this workshop, we’ll use playful exercises and discussion to write poems about belonging, resilience and what plants mean to us as women from elsewhere.

  • This workshop is aimed at those who identify as migrant women, aged 18+.
  • You do not have to be an experienced writer to attend this workshop.
  • (Manchester based) travel expenses will be covered for all participants (receipts required).
  • Final outputs from the workshop may be shared publicly in an exhibition or digital format.

When: Friday 26th September, 2-4pm

Where: Castlefield Viaduct, Greater, Manchester M3 4LG

What: Join Manchester Multilingual City Poet Nóra Blascsók for a creative writing workshop exploring roots, belonging, place and identity. Beginning with a ~30 minute grounding seed sowing activity facilitated by the Viaduct’s Senior Volunteering and Community Officer Hamza Rana, the afternoon will culminate in a ~60 minute writing workshop facilitated by Nóra.
