July 2023 marks 75 years of the NHS. Come along and celebrate this ground-breaking and nation-defining institution with an evening of poetry that represents and uplifts voices of the NHS at Manchester Poetry Library.

The first NHS hospital to be opened in the UK was Trafford General Hospital, and they are currently working in collaboration with poet Kim Moore to capture and share the voices of NHS staff in poetry. Kim will be at this event, alongside other poets highlighting the NHS in their work (lineup TBC). There will also be a poster exhibition and a curated collection of poetry available for you to browse, consult, and enjoy.

Come along to Manchester Poetry Library on Monday 26 June for an engaging and enjoyably evening of poetry that shines a spotlight on this staple of the nation.

This event will be hybrid and accessible remotely as well as in person.

Manchester Poetry Library is located centrally on Oxford Road. More information, including how to travel to the venue and accessibility information, can be found on the Manchester Poetry Library website – https://www.mmu.ac.uk/poetry-library/visit-us
