Now you can join one of our friendly shared reading sessions.

Working with charity The Reader, Elizabeth Gaskell’s House are hosting a series of events where you can experience the joy of reading together.

During the session a trained Reader Leader will select an extract from one of Elizabeth Gaskell’s novels to read aloud together. Everyone is welcome to share their thoughts, ideas and memories – there is no pressure to talk or read aloud.

Experience the joy of literature in your own way through shared reading in a unique venue.

These Shared Reading Taster sessions are free and will take place in-person at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House at the below times.

Sunday 21 June, 11am and 2pm
Wednesday 24 June, 11am and 2pm
