Taking place at Band on the Wall in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, TBR celebrates independent storytelling and gives readers the opportunity to discover books and writers they may not encounter on traditional bestseller lists.
The festival brings together a diverse line-up of independent authors across romance, fantasy, horror, dark romance, mystery, thrillers, children’s literature and more, alongside illustrators, bookish creators and independent businesses.
TBR has been designed to be interactive as well as literary. Every visitor receives a TBR Book Passport encouraging them to explore the festival, meet authors, discover new books and support independent creatives. Guests can also take part in the TBR Indie Awards, book trivia, Spin the TBR Wheel, giveaways and the festival’s Golden Ticket hunt.
The festival is supported by independent and Manchester partners including Bugbear Books, Library of James and Goodtime Games, alongside legendary Manchester institution Afflecks.
At its heart, TBR is about making literary events feel welcoming, accessible and fun while creating a platform for independent voices and encouraging people to discover their next favourite story.
