Started as a workshop project as an excuse for two friends to work together, The Less Said workshops are going to run their last couple of workshops.

We were a bi-monthly workshop series at Dulcimer Chorlton, and ours was an attempt to sit together with an intention to write poems through process of focused reading of our favourite poets. We have taken lessons and wrestled with 6 poets in 11 months, and with our seventh poet we are closing our little series here.

The Less Said workshops run in two parts. First Sunday is for reading the chosen poet and writing poems with exercises inspired by our reading. The second Sunday is dedicated to concrete criticism and further reading, followed by more writing. The series was a result of the fact that most of the writing workshops in the city are less mindful of reading being a significant aspect of a poet’s work.

For July edition our dates are 19th of July and 2nd of August. Timing is 4 pm. At Dulcimer in Chorlton. For our finalé, our poet in charge is John Ashbery, from whom we got our title and a big chunk of this togetherness. There is no link to book for this one, just show up.

Joseph and Abhijeet will await you.
