Join us for an interactive event that brings together Multilingual Manchester, Manchester Museum and Manchester libraries to celebrate Manchester’s language diversity on the occasion of UNESCO International Mother Language Day.

The event will launch the online Multilingual Museum – an exciting new multilingual platform as part of the Manchester Museum’s online engagement activities. Find out how you can engage with the museum’s collections online through ‘storied translation’ – a novel approach to the translation of content that showcases linguistic diversity in the city, regional language variation and responses to objects that mean different things to different cultures.

We will also look back on earlier celebrations of language diversity and collaborations among civic partners in the city.
