Join us for a panel discussion and book launch discussing the future of China’s economy with two eminent speakers.

China has the potential to wield enormous economic and political power, already vying with the US for the top spot in the global economy, and on some measures has surpassed it. How will China navigate its growing role on the world stage? What are the implications for commerce, international law and the fight against climate change?

Manchester University Press and The Confucius Institute at the University of Manchester are delighted to host a discussion between authors Vince Cable and Rebecca Fannin about the future of China’s economy on 1st October on the university campus. The discussion will be chaired by lecturer Xiaobing Wang.
