Presented by Flapjack Press and Manchester Libraries. Hosted by Tony Curry with special guest Frank Rafferty.

Our special guest Frank Rafferty emerged from the Glasgow punk scene and currently lives in Derry, Northern Ireland. He performs his poetry and other material at spoken word events, festivals and clubs across Ireland and the UK, curates a spoken word slot for BBC Radio Foyle’s Mark Patterson Show, and hosts several regular spoken word events, including the All Ulster Poetry Slam Championship. A collection of work, Rafferty’s Rules, was published by Salamander Street in 2024. Working alongside Scottish and Irish musicians, and funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, recordings of this work were released under the same title. Frank also performs with Glaswegian musician and producer Willy Copeland as The Dead Thatchers.

Book your open mic slot from noon on Tuesday 13th May via mail@flapjackpress.co.uk.
N.B. Open mic slots are 3 minutes per performer – it is essential that you stay within this timeframe.
Performance slots are allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis from the stated booking time. If they are already filled you will be offered a place on the reserve list.
