Wonju Ciy of Literature in South Korea is accepting applications for their 2026 writers’ residency.

Wonju City of Literature is looking for one writer with a close connection to a City of Literature to come to Wonju and stay at Toji Cultural Centre for eight weeks. This residency is part of Wonju City of Literature’s international contribution to the Cities of Literature sub-network, designed to promote the understanding and the friendship of Cities of Literature.

Residency Details

• 31st May: Closing Date for Applications.
• By 21st July: Announcement of Successful Writer.
• Residency Location: Toji Cultural Centre.
• Residency Duration: 8 weeks.
• Residency Start Date: 1 September 2026.
• Residency End Date: 31 October 2026.

Wonju City of Literature will offer:

• A round-trip flight ticket.
• Transportation on arrival and departure dates provided.
• 8 weeks stay at the Toji Cultural Centre with organic meals.
• A writing room.
• An opportunity to engage with Wonju’s cultural scene and participate in various events, including the Wonju literature festival.
