The Instituto Cervantes in Manchester is once again part of the literary festival Benengeli 2023.

International Week of Literature in Spanish. A week of words, authors, books and literature stretching over five continents, with face-to-face and virtual activities with more than forty Spanish-speaking authors. This year, the festival is dedicated to the concept of the “epic” in literature.

For this occasion, the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester is organising a round table dedicated to epic narratives in contemporary fiction in British and Latin American literature with the participation of Rosa Ribas, author of books such as El pintor de Flandes, La luna en las minas and Un asunto demasiado familiar; Jorge Volpi, with works such as In Spite of the Dark Silence, The Peace of Tombs and In Search of Klingsor; Rob Parker, coordinator of Crime Central and with books such as The Watchman, Far From the Tree and And Your Enemies Closer; and moderated by the teacher and bibliotherapist Mariana Casale.

Benengeli 2023 is being held at the Instituto Cervantes centres in Brussels (Belgium), Los Angeles (United States), Manchester (United Kingdom), Manila (Philippines), Sydney (Australia), Tangiers (Morocco), Tokyo (Japan) and Toulouse (France).
