Instituto Cervantes
His “visual poems” and “object poems” took ordinary materials and transformed them into playful, political, ambiguous and surprising artworks.
Brossa’s practice sits within the wider experimental traditions of Dada and Surrealism—movements interested in chance, spontaneity, non-rational thinking, and the juxtaposition of unexpected elements. These movements challenged conventional art forms and used humour, disruption, and poetic logic to question society, language, and the role of the artist. Students are invited to explore these ideas through their own creative discipline, developing a final outcome for a public exhibition in a library environment.
