For this place writing workshop led by Vicki Leigh and Seth Connor-Fullwood, we will walk around the area formerly known as “Little Ireland”, a slum – written about by Engels known for its large population of Irish immigrants. Little Ireland gained notoriety in the industrial period despite only being occupied for around 20 years.

After the walk, we will spend an hour writing poetry inspired by our experience, using guided prompts to consider the history of Little Ireland and how the area has changed over time.

Meeting Place: Wakefield Street by Oxford Road train station.

Please bring a notebook and pen; wear suitable clothing and footwear. All are welcome and no expereince of poetry is required.
