Poetry
Levenshulme Old Library and Northern School of Writing
The event starts with a prose that speaks about the use of poetry as a response to the ongoing assault on truth, on words, on human rights, on law and on thinking. It excavates words from the rubble of grief and collective trauma in with-ness and witness with Gaza.
Many of the poems are based on this call-and-response anthology book: Keep Telling of Gaza, by Sidhe Press.
Dr Khawla Badwan is a scholar of language, education, culture and social justice. She is a Palestinian refugee who lived in Gaza for 14 years.
This event is free, but booking is essential. All profits from the event will go to the Middle Eastern Children’s Alliance to support their work in Palestine.
