Anita is the Wainwright-Prize shortlisted author of I Belong Here: a Journey Along the Backbone of Britain which won a Books Are My Bag Award and was nominated for the Great Outdoors Award and Royal Society of Literature’s Ondaatje Prize for writing evoking ‘the spirit of a place’. I Belong Here chronicles her epic walk along the Pennine Way and the restorative power of walking and nature on the physical and mental health.
In this workshop we’ll be exploring themes including ecologies and the environment, making a journey, home, class and writing from the margins, overcoming obstacles – and how writing itself is a journey.
Participants, please bring something to write with and on – whether pen and paper or digital.
