Accessibility at Festival of Libraries 2026

2 June 2026 - News

Manchester City of Literature’s Festival of Libraries is back again between 10th and 14th June. Here is all the information you need about the accessibility options we offer in general and during the event.

Site Assist

You can access the programme and all information regarding the festival in over 100 languages, plus various screen-reader options if you click the Site Assist button at the top of our website.

The Site Assist bar has lots of other tools to help you navigate the Manchester City of Literature Website. This includes visual aid tools, read aloud options, font customisation, and a built-in dictionary.

Venue-by-Venue Accessibility

Each venue that will welcome audiences in as part of this year’s Festival of Libraries events will have their own accessibility and inclusion practices. You can view a comprehensive list of them here.

If your accessibility needs are not included here, or you are unsure of anything, be sure to contact the venues directly for further information.

BSL Interpreted Events

This year, Festival of Libraries is hosting Sophie Woolley as part of her Unlimited Residency. At the event, Sophie will be performing and engaging in a workshop, which will both be BSL interpreted by Katrina McEachran. This event will be taking place at The John Rylands Library, and you can find out more information on accessibility at this venue here.
