Slam-o-Vision is spoken word’s answer to Eurovision – a Global Poetry Slam between spoken word artists from UNESCO Cities of Literature

Manchester UNESCO City of Literature is offering a prize of £250 to the poet who represents our city at Slam-o-Vision 2023. The selected poet will represent Manchester in person at a live event held in Nottingham on 5th December 2023. Travel will be paid for by Manchester UNESCO City of Literature.

If you live, work or study in Manchester and are over 18 you are eligible to apply.

Entries must be received by Midnight, Sunday 17th September 2023.

• Your poem can be on any topic or theme
• Your poem must be a maximum of 3 minutes in length
• Your poem must have no music or accompaniment
• You must not use any props or costumes
• Your poem can be performed in any language (but if it is not in English, please provide the English translation and subtitles with your video)
• Your poem can be a pre-existing video, but please ensure it is not branded and be mindful that this will be your final submission should you be chosen to be our representative.

EMAIL: Please make sure you include your name and contact email in the body of the email and confirm that you live, work or study in Manchester. Please note that if your poem wins, then you’re happy for it to appear on the Slam-o-Vision website by entering and you are available to travel to Nottingham in December to represent Manchester at the grand final of the competition.
