No Tongues Left To Chant: Gaeilge / Irish

Manchester City of Literature project

The Irish language, Gaeilge, is spoken by an estimated 70,000-200,000 speakers fluently and is recognised as having endangered language status.

In the early 1800s, Donnchadh Mac Mathghamhna collected this volume of tales, poems and tracts in Irish.
