How do we respond to voices separated from us by distance, voices carried through the particles of time, or voices that echo within us?

Distant Voices was a joint exhibition curated by Manchester Multilingual City Poet Jeremy Pak Nelson, The Poetry Clinic Curator Tammy Cheung, and Fuse Manchester which took place at Saan1 Manchester from the 17-21st of September 2026.

The exhibition shared poems, thoughts, and visual artworks that transport us to another time and place – with collages, paintings, photography, and illustrations; printed materials featuring poetry or other text; and media such as sculpture and audio/visual work. It showcased artists based across Greater Manchester, as well as Japan, Vietnam, America, and more.

Jeremy Pak Nelson also gave public performances of a work-in-progress piece combining poetry and theatre on the Saturday of the exhibition.
