A celebration of language, memory and storytelling with Manchester’s Multilingual City Poets, Jeremy Pak Nelson and Nóra Blascsók, as they debut their newly commissioned poems exploring the theme What We Inherit, What Haunts Us. 

Commissioned by Manchester Literature Festival and Manchester UNESCO City of Literature, these original works reflect on heritage, ancestral memory and the stories we carry across borders.  

Performing in English, Hungarian and Mandarin, Jeremy and Nóra will share their new commissions and other works, exploring how traditions survive, change and take on new life in a multilingual city.  

A Manchester Literature Festival event co-presented with Manchester City of Literature and Manchester Poetry Library.  

Jeremy Pak Nelson is a writer and artist from Hong Kong whose work spans poetry, fiction and visual art. He is a current Manchester Multilingual City Poet, and his work has appeared in Magma, Interpret, Small Wonders, among others.  

Nóra Blascsók is a 2025 New Northern Poet and current Manchester Multilingual City Poet whose work has appeared in The Poetry Review, Propel and Perverse. Her debut pamphlet was published in 2022 and her next pamphlet will be out in 2027.
